Anna Pasek (1982-2007) was a geographer and PhD student of the Institute of Geography and Spatial Management of the Jagiellonian University, geology student of the Institute of Geological Sciences of the Jagiellonian University, traveller and photographer. She was especially sensitive to the beauty and pain of the world around us, always helpful and understanding of the suffering of other people. She hoped her academic and travel passions to be connected with the mountains and polar regions. She organized or co-organized numerous research expeditions and sightseeing trips. Some of the corners of the world she visited included the wild regions of Norway, Iceland, Russia, India and Bhutan. As a Socrates/Erasmus student, she spent six months in the Arctic, taking part in the activities of the University Centre in Svalbard (UNIS). She approached all initiatives in her life with great dedication, passion and energy, quickly transforming ideas into actions which brought joy and optimism to herself and all those around her.
